Hello, and welcome to LMU Goldens. I’m Letisha Uber, and my passion lies in raising exceptional Golden Retrievers with a strong focus on breed standards, health, temperament, and longevity.

A Lifelong Love for Dogs

My journey with dogs began early in life, growing up in a home with animals. My grandfather raised and bred Doberman Pinschers, while my “Pappy” bred Lhasa Apsos, offering me my first glimpse into the world of dog breeding. My mother, an accomplished breeder and handler of AKC Champion Cocker Spaniels, further influenced me. Surrounded by her network of knowledgeable friends in the breeding and show world, I was fortunate to learn from some of the best. Their guidance instilled in me a deep respect for ethical breeding, structured training, and a commitment to canine health, all of which continue to shape my philosophy today.

My Breeding Journey

My breeding journey began in 2011 with American Pit Bull Terriers. In 2013, I expanded to English Bulldogs under the mentorship of an experienced breeder. Then, in 2018, I found my true passion with Golden Retrievers. This chapter taught me the value of early development and the critical role of genetic health. These incredible dogs quickly became treasured members of our family. Their intuitive, gentle nature had a life-changing impact on my son, who is on the autism spectrum. Their ability to connect, comfort, and support him inspired me to share the healing presence of Golden Retrievers with other families.

Commitment to Animal Welfare

In addition to breeding, I have always been deeply committed to animal welfare. Over the years, I have rescued and rehomed a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, fish, and more. As a foster caregiver for my local shelter, I provide a safe and loving home for animals awaiting permanent placement. I also mentor aspiring breeders, helping them develop ethical programs that prioritize health, sound development, and responsible practices.
